The news about the Genealogical Association of Nova Scotia’s (GANS) workshops for January and February appeared in my Facebook feed this morning.
The first one takes place on Wednesday January 13, 2016 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Genealogical Association of Nova Scotia, 33 Ochterloney Street, Suite 100, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The topic is Research Aboriginal Ancestry.
Details: Join Don (Byrd) Awalt as he explores the issues and nuances relating to researching Aboriginal families. Don is a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a degree in Environmental Planning and a degree in Fine Arts with a double major.
He has over thirty years experience evolving historic and genealogical research most of which is related to Atlantic Canada histories and families including Mi’kmaq.
