Title: Cool Canadian Bloggers
Snippet: Society is addicted to lists. We make lists for groceries and things to do. We also create lists for things we like, things we don’t like and things that amaze or interest us. Most magazine covers will boast about the current top ten lists of a given topic such as vacation spots, desserts or films. It’s no surprise then that we make genealogy-related lists. At times one list inspires the creation of another list.
That’s exactly what happened when Lisa Louise Cooke of Family Tree Magazine posted Social Media Mavericks: 40 to Follow (http://familytreemagazine.com/article/40-social-media-mavericks). Her list spanned several branches of social media including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, blogs and Pinterest. Scanning her list I noticed several well-known, large, popular sources were absent, so it caused me to wonder about her method of choosing who made the list and who didn’t. Perhaps her goal was to focus on informative and less-known sites the average genealogist wouldn’t know about.
