Column: Photo Sleuth Maureen A. Taylor

Between today and Saturday, my genealogy column, Roots to the Past, is available in the following Atlantic Canada newspapers:

Tuesday: The Kings County Record (Sussex)

Wednesday: The Lunenburg County Progress Bulletin

Thursday: The Western Star (Corner Brook)

Saturday: The Citizen (Amherst)

Saturday: Times & Transcript (Moncton)

Title: Photo Sleuth Maureen A. Taylor

Snippet: In this digital age, images are a penny a dozen. Everyone is snapping pictures with cameras, iPods and cell phones, capturing their surroundings, family and friends, and let’s not forget—themselves (selfies).

The advantages to digital photography are numerous, but one benefit individuals might not know about is the data collected with each click of the shutter. To access this, hover the cursor over the file name and right click. In the pop-up box, choose “Properties”. Another window will appear with a menu bar: General, Security, Details, Previous Versions.

. . . To read more, pick up one of the above noted newspapers.
