Snippet: The other day a friend who is just getting interested in genealogy asked a very important question. It was one I had thought of many years ago when I first began on my genealogical journey, and one I sometimes think about today with the every-changing environment of information sources: How do you know when information is right?

This generally translates into: Which sources are reliable?

Many genealogists that begin their research nowadays often go to one source: the Internet. This is where they spend the majority of their time, surfing from one database to another.
