Title: O’Canada in October
Snippet: I’ll be the first one to stand up and say I love this country, but I won’t be the only one. In more than forty years of living I’ve met many individuals—both Canadian and non-Canadian—who share this love for my country. Not everyone however is vocal about this love affair; after all, we’re only Canadians. We don’t like to brag.
But we do like to gather and share.
The O’Canada blog does just that. Its owner refers to it as “reflections on Canadian culture from below the border”. Brett Lockwood, the creator of O’Canada, has been visiting this country for more than twenty years. He stated, “I’ve gained quite an appreciation for many aspects of Canadian culture and its people”. He found it strange that “Canada is frequently misperceived and underappreciated by many of those immediately south of the border”.
