Between today and Saturday, my genealogy column, Roots to the Past, is available in the following Atlantic Canada newspapers:
Tuesday: The Kings County Record (Sussex)
Wednesday: The Lunenburg County Progress Bulletin
Thursday: The Western Star (Corner Brook)
Saturday: The Citizen (Amherst)
Saturday: Times & Transcript (Moncton)
Title: Beep! Beep! Back It Up!
Snippet: With Hurricane Isaac currently battering the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, it’s time to start thinking about our fall weather in Atlantic Canada and the possibilities of what it will bring. Although Isaac will be only a memory by the time you read this column, don’t let down your guard. A storm as strong as—if not stronger than—Hurricane Juan may be in our future this year with ocean temperatures warmer than usual.
Hurricanes are only one worry. Both natural and human-made disasters can arrive quickly, leaving little time to save loved ones let alone time to stop and think about rescuing genealogy data. That’s why it should be backed up now.
