Title: Ancestors in the Garden
Snippet: I stood in the garden, inhaling the sweet aroma filling the air. I closed my eyes and breathed deeper. The heat from the July sun enhanced the scents of the flowers and for a moment, I was lost in time. My mind wondered to my childhood where I first smelt the fragrance. Roses. The smell came from roses. I didn’t need to see the plant which created the trip down memory lane; I knew it by instinct.
I opened my eyes and looked around. More than a dozen white and yellow shrubs throughout the garden were coming into full bloom. I took a deep breath and savoured the taste again. It was as if I breathed in a fruity treat, the aroma was so warm and delightful.
