Title: The Shamrock and the Maple Leaf
Snippet: The Shamrock and the Maple Leaf is “an exhibition of Irish-Canadian documentary heritage held by Library and Archives Canada”. It consists of photographs, letters, books, music and other material telling of Ireland’s rich influences on Canadian history and culture. The exhibit came about through the collaboration between Library and Archives Canada and the National Archives of Ireland.
Immigration patterns of the Irish to Canada are found in the essay section. It indicates six million people left Ireland for overseas destinations between 1821 and 1915.
